Yep. In the good old days 260 or so was a good drive on a


500 yard par 5, leaving 240. A few would think about going for the green, depending on lie, water, wind, etc. A GREAT 3 wood (made from real wood) put him on the green but he was likely a short chip off. Today a routine 320 yard drive leaves 180 on the same hole, which is probably a 7 iron or so. Even at the same distance, 240 is a routine 3 iron and everybody is on the green or close.
